Ratha Yatra Amterdam 2009

By: on June 13, 2009

It's with great pleasure that we, ISKCON Amsterdam, are hereby extending to you our heartfelt invitation to this year's Ratha Yatra Festival in Amsterdam (Holland) on Sunday the 19th of July 2009.
As many of you probably know, Amsterdam enjoys worldwide fame. The preaching potential out here is tremendous! Every year, Their Lordships Sri Sri Jagannath, Baladeva and Subhadra Maharani show Their magnanimity by leaving Their current home Radhadesh, Belgium, to go out on the streets along with Their devotees to give full mercy to the suffering residents. The unique thing about this particular Ratha Yatra Festival is that His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada originally installed these beautiful Deities in Amsterdam!

This Ratha Yatra festival is getting more and more famous by the year. Last year, Lord Jagannatha and Srila Prabhupada reached the headlines of several national and local newspapers and Their Lordships also found Their way to the television trough documentaries. This year we are again expecting extensive media coverage.

H.H. Kadamba Kanana Swami, H.H. Janananda Goswami and H.G. Madhava Das will be enlivening us again by gracefully dancing and singing in front of the cart of Lord Jagannatha and the Lord is planning to take the best possible route through the city on the busiest day of the week, showering His darshana onto the maximum amount of suffering, materialistically frustrated people.
Yes, it's getting bigger and better!
However there seems to be one thing lacking in this pretty picture: your presence...PLEASE COME!!! Come to encourage and inspire us. Let's chant and dance together, churning the vast ocean of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra anxiously to derive the ultimate nectar: the mellows of the ecstasy of the Holy Names.
