ISKCON devotees have distributed prasadam – sanctified vegetarian food offered to God – with a view to shifting consciousness for the past 46 years in Brazil. Today, there are a number of successful restaurants run by Hare Krishna devotees across Brazil.
With everyone in self-isolation and practicing social distancing due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, devotees are coming up with more and more creative ways to associate with each other and hold events virtually that would previously have taken place in person.
Around forty youth, aged 12 to 17, are expected from Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Peru and USA. The event will be held at Govardhana Eco Village, forty-five minutes from Sao Paulo International Airport. With lush greenery and a beautiful temple and restaurant, it’s the perfect spot for a youth camp.

A group of forty devotees have completed the first one-year GBC College Course in Latin America, which included online classes and two residential courses, preparing them to become ISKCON’s future leaders.
From March 24 to April 6, 2018, GBC College For Leadership Development was held for the first time in Latin America at the Jaladuta Institute (Campina Grande, Brazil), delivered in the Spanish language.
Run by Brazilian ISKCON Youth Secretary Vaikuntha Murti Das, and his wife Subhadra Dasi of ISKCON Education, the camp is now in its fourth year and has just reached a new milestone. This year, it opened its doors for youth outside of Brazil, with participants from Chile and Canada attending.

Many works of art with sacred themes have been painted under the inspiration of ISKCON-founder A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. These paintings were originally intended to illustrate books by Prabhupada, author of many original writings and translations, and were also meant to decorate temples and houses of devotees of Krishna. Now, these Prabhupada-inspired paintings have arrived at a new, unusual place: a shopping center in Brazil.
The 3t Path, a new YouTube channel, started by Giridhari Das, a Brazilian devotee who in the past has been in charge of the Portuguese BBT and been the President of the ISKCON Brazil National Council, has gotten over 30 thousand views since starting just three weeks ago, with 12 thousand views just on his japa meditation video.
The second Radha Krishna Camp took place in Nova Gokula, Pindamonhangaba, Brazil between the 5th to the 12th of January, and was attended by over 40 devotees between 12 and 16 years of age looking for new friends, fun and experience of an ideal spiritual life.
In April and May 2015, Grihastha Vision Team (GVT) members, Uttama dasi and Partha das spent 5 weeks in Brazil, offering seminars, workshops, retreats, individual couple education and mentor training in various cities across Brazil. While it may still be something of a well-kept secret, at least in the English-speaking world, Brazil’s Hare Krishna Seminary of Philosophy and Theology has been systematically educating Portuguese-speaking devotees in Srila Prabhupada’s books since 2001.

Holi, or the Festival of Colors, which heralds spring and celebrates the pastimes of Lord Krishna and his eternal consort Srimati Radharani, was once an esoteric festival celebrated mainly in India. But today, thanks to festivals like the one at the Krishna temple in Utah, USA, it has become a phenomenon across the world. The latest country to host the event is Brazil, with last year’s hugely successful “Festival das Cores” in Sao Paulo.

Although World Cup host Brazil is still reeling from a 7 – 1 loss to Germany on Tuesday July 8th, football fever still grips the country as the World Cup barrels towards the Germany vs Argentina final on Sunday June 13th. In the midst of it all, a large Harinama party of ISKCON devotees has been a hit as they travel to the major cities where World Cup games are being held, as well as to viewing parties in nearby locales.

Members of the Brazilian Governing Council of ISKCON (Conselho Governamental do Brasil, or CGB) met this November 29 - 30 at the Vrajabhumi temple near Rio de Janeiro to plan a revolutionary new management strategy. Until now, Brazil has been overseen by two international members of ISKCON’s Governing Body Comission (GBC), Param Gati Swami and Hridayananda Dasa Goswami. Four other sannyasis who reside in Brazil – all initiating gurus – acted as representatives of the GBCs and managed different geographical areas of the country.
