Jan 25, 2007Veggies to hold rally on MondaySaturday January 20 2007 12:33 ISTBELGAUM: Vegetarians of the city protested against the State Government's move to provide eggs to the students of primary school, here on Thursday.In a meeting held here on Thursday, they decided to take concrete steps against the Government's decision. They decided to gather in large number during the Jagannatha Yatra at 9.30 am on January 22 at Bogarves Circle, from where a protest rally will be taken out.They said the rally would pass through Kirloskar road, Ramdev galli, Khade Bazar before culminating at the deputy commissioner's office premises, where they would submit a memorandum.They threatened to launch a hunger strike if the Government failed to fulfill their demands.Pujya Jagannath Daas Prabhuji of ISKCON presided over the meeting. Shevantibhai Shah, Rajendra Jain, Balanna Kagganagi, A A Shetty, Satish Gaurgonda and others were present. Many members of Akhil Karnataka Sharda Mahila Mandal participated in the meeting chaired by Vaishali Ankale. NEWS - KARNATAKA
